Present Sources
The major sources of vanadium today are the titaniferous magnetite ores of Australia, China,Russia, and South Africa backed up by vanadium recovered from residues in oil and oil related products particularly from Venezuela.
Current estimates of reserves, which can be economically mined at present
along with potential reserves which may become economical, are of the order
of 41.3 million tonnes. When this is compared with the current level of consumption
of 33,250 tonnes it is clear that reserves are sufficient for many hundreds
of years into the future.
